Say It Now-The Afters

Why are three simple words so hard: "I am sorry"? I do not like to admit when I am wrong, but I really do not like to admit that someone else was right. That stubbornness has led to many broken relationships that could have easily been repaired if I would have laid my pride aside and apologized. At the time, I thought my pride was more important; however, over the years I have come to realize that the relationship was more important.

The Afters reminds us how important the relationship is in their song Say It Now:

Say it now, I hope we find a way
To say it now, don’t be afraid
To say it now, everything we’re keeping inside
Don’t wait just let your heart speak
Don’t waste another heart beat
Cuz we’ll never know
Until we let it out, let it out
Say it say it now
Say it say it now

We should not let our pride, anger, or fear keep us from making a wronged relationship right. Regardless of whose fault it is, we need to either ask for forgiveness or offer forgiveness to the other person.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:23-24
Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering

Our relationship with Christ is affected when our relationships with other people are not right. So whatever needs to be said whether "I'm sorry" or "I forgive you"; let us not wait but sat it now before it's too late.
