Repentance-its a big word. Simply it means to acknowledge that what you are doing is wrong and to turn away in an effort to not do it anymore. In order to receive forgiveness, we must repent.

Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place-unless you repent. Revelation 2:5

Some people think repentance is just saying "I'm sorry" with no contrition. But that is not the case. We must truly know that what we have done caused great offense to the Lord and seek to make it right.
