Like the Rain-Esterlyn

Is it just me or does rain get a bad rap? Most people do not like rain-they get depressed or upset because the rain ruins their plans. However, rain can be a very good thing. We need rain to water what grows and provide refreshment for people and animals. Rain is also good for cleaning; a good rain can wash away all the dirt and grime accumulated.

There are times in our lives when we need spiritual rain to wash away our sin and shame.
Psalm 51:2-4:

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity

And cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions,

And my sin is ever before me.

Against You, You only, I have sinned

And done what is evil in Your sight,

So that You are justified when You speak

And blameless when You judge.

Esterlyn sings of the need to feels God like rain washing over us in their song Like the Rain:

God is the rain that quenches our dry souls and washes away the dirt in our lives. We must call out to Him like David in the Psalms and Esterlyn in their song. So don't be dismayed in the rain, welcome it like the light of each new day.
