Don't Waste Your Life-Lecrae

I just finished reading the book Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper. It was compelling. In this book, he challenges us not to waste our lives on earthly, temporal things. He writes that we must make Christ supreme in every aspect our lives. One of his famous quotes is in the book: "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". The main text he used is Philipians 1:20-21

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain

With everything thing we do, we must exalt, honor, magnify Christ. Whether it is working at our job, spending time with family and friends, shopping, or spreading the Gospel, we must exalt the supreme worth of Christ in what we do.

Lecrae must have read this book because his song by the same title echos its contents-just in rap style.

To live is Christ, yeah that's Paul I recall
To die is gain so for Christ we give it all
He's the treasure you'll never find in the mall
See your money, your singleness, marriage, talents and time
They were loaned to you to show the world that Christ is divine
That's why it's Christ in my rhymes
That's why it's Christ all the time
See my whole world is built around Him, He's the life in my lines
I refuse to waste my life
He's too true to chase that ice
Here's my gifts and time cause I'm constantly trying to be used to praise the Christ
If He's truly raised to life

I don't know about you, but I do not want to get to the end of my life and realize I have wasted it.

Then this news should change your life
And by His grace you can
