The Almost asks these same questions in their song monster:
If I were a monster,
Would you wince
When you looked at me?
If I were a freak, would you stare?
If I were a leper,
Would you say unclean?
If I was lost.
Would you help me get free?
Would you wince
When you looked at me?
If I were a freak, would you stare?
If I were a leper,
Would you say unclean?
If I was lost.
Would you help me get free?
Unfortunately, friends do leave and loved ones stop loving us. But, we have this hope that Jesus never stops loving us. He tells us in Luke 19:10
"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
One purpose that Jesus had while on this earth was to find those of us who are lost and need to be saved. The reality is that every person who has every lived and will live fits this description; some people just do not realize it. For those of us who do, we have a promise from Jesus that despite our failures and sin, He will rescue us and give us freedom; we only need to ask.
The Almost reminds us of this fact at the end of the song:
When I am a monster,
You never wince,
When You look at me.
When I am a freak, You never stare.
When I am a leper,
You never say unclean,
And when I am lost,
You come and get me free.
You come and get me free
You never wince,
When You look at me.
When I am a freak, You never stare.
When I am a leper,
You never say unclean,
And when I am lost,
You come and get me free.
You come and get me free
Jesus Christ is the only One who will never look away, walk away, or keep us in bondage. He will always help us get free.
